Jenn Huynh is the founder and creative director of Future Flowers, a floral studio recognized for its modern, fashion-informed approach to botanical design. Jenn treats florals as a visual language—one shaped by seasonality, form, and restraint rather than tradition. Her work is defined by a contemporary sensibility and an instinct for composition. Lensed by Ruth Sorensen in her Brooklyn workspace, Jenn shares the small, telling details that shape her days and what makes a pair of jeans earn its place in constant rotation.

OSSOU: What makes a pair of jeans feel like yours?

Jenn: My jeans feel like mine when there’s a very specific hole in my back pocket where I put my clippers.

OSSOU: Where have these jeans already been with you, and where are they going next?

Jenn: These jeans have been with me in Brooklyn and they’re coming with me to Tokyo.

OSSOU: A film scene that captures your mood today.

Jenn: Cate Blanchett’s character in Tár pacing around her studio playing the same note over and over again on the piano.

OSSOU: Morning ritual in 3 words.

Jenn: Coffee, Journal, Playlist

OSSOU: What’s usually in your back pocket?

Jenn: My phone or clippers

OSSOU: These jeans are your uniform for what kind of day?

Jenn: Most likely a work day that starts at the flower market, then to the studio, then to dinner.

OSSOU: If these jeans could talk, what would they say about you?

Jenn: Probably that I should stop rushing around!

OSSOU: Structured or slouched?

Jenn: I truly love both but I do lean more toward slouched.

OSSOU: The best compliment you’ve ever received wearing denim.

Jenn: “Where are your jeans from?”

OSSOU: Which artist, architect, or designer always re-centers you?

Jenn: “Flora” by Mapplethorpe usually does the trick.

OSSOU: :The one piece you always pair with denim.

Jenn: A ribbed white racerback tank.

OSSOU: What makes this pair that pair?

Jenn: A unique wash or fade to the denim.

OSSOU: What’s the wildest thing you’ve done in denim?

Jenn: I guess the best way to answer this is to say I saw the sun rise.
